Bavarian PM Söder hails first Sudeten German congress in Czechia as historic
Bavarian Premier Markus Söder (CSU) has described the first-ever Sudeten German congress held in Czechia as a historic moment, calling it a day of hope, reconciliation and joy. Speaking in Brno, where the annual gathering is taking place for the first time, Söder highlighted the symbolic significance of the event in Czech-German relations. Sudeten German association leader Bernd Posselt said participants had come with a message of love rather than hatred. Bavaria has long acted as the political patron of Sudeten Germans, many of whom settled there after their post-war expulsion from Czechoslovakia.
