Czech foreign policy to move away from moralising, Macinka says

Czech foreign policy will no longer be based on moralising rhetoric or social media posts instead of diplomacy, Foreign Minister Petr Macinka told Czech ambassadors on Thursday. He said Czechia wants to restore a “standard level” of relations with China, comparable to ties maintained by many other European Union member states. According to Macinka, the government aims for a more pragmatic and interest-driven foreign policy, focused on dialogue and traditional diplomacy. He said relations with Beijing should reflect Czech economic and security interests while remaining consistent with the country’s commitments within the EU and its allies.
