Smartwings likely to be taken over by Turkish carrier Pegasus

Czech airline Smartwings is likely to be acquired by Turkey’s low-cost carrier Pegasus Airlines after its parent company CSA entered a formal sale process, spokeswoman Vladimíra Dufková said. CSA owns 100 percent of Smartwings. The transaction would be completed once regulators and other bodies grant the necessary approvals, with the transfer of shares expected within the next 12 months. According to earlier media reports, Poland’s LOT had also shown interest in purchasing Smartwings.
