Czech and Ukrainian officials discuss next steps in ammunition initiative
Ukraine’s deputy defence minister Serhij Boiev met Aleš Vytečka, head of the Czech Agency for Intergovernmental Defence Cooperation (AMOS), to review delivery schedules and available volumes of artillery ammunition for Ukraine as it continues to face Russia’s invasion. Boiev thanked Czechia for its sustained support and stressed the need for longer-range munitions. According to Kyiv, the Czech side outlined the status of current contracts, with no further details released. The Czech-led initiative, financed by Western partners, delivered 1.5 million shells last year and aims for 1.8 million this year. Leaders of the emerging ANO-SPD-Motorists’ coalition have criticised the project.
