Supreme Court rejects Family Alliance appeal in dispute with MP Richterová

The Czech Supreme Court has dismissed an appeal filed by the conservative Family Alliance against Pirate Party MP Olga Richterová. The ruling upholds previous court decisions stating that Richterová does not have to delete a Facebook post in which she described the alliance as “Putin’s voice in Europe,” nor refrain from making similar statements. The Alliance denied any connection to Russia, calling the remark offensive given the ongoing war in Ukraine. Lower courts, however, found the statement to fall within the limits of acceptable political criticism, noting that Richterová’s comparison referred to family policy, not the war or foreign influence.
