Adam Ondra wins Rock Master duel for the seventh time

Czech climber Adam Ondra has claimed victory for the seventh time in the prestigious Rock Master competition in Arco, Italy, winning the duel event that combines lead and speed climbing. In the final, the 32-year-old from Brno defeated last year’s champion, Italy’s Filip Schenk. Ondra said the route was more demanding this year, resulting in slower times, especially in the early rounds. “In the final, Filip and I were neck and neck under the roof section, so I knew I had to give it everything. I used a completely different method and finally got through faster,” he told reporters. On Saturday, Ondra will also compete in the bouldering event, which he won in 2021 and 2023.
