Environmentalists urge Babiš to reject Motorists’ nominee for environment post

Environmental organizations met Friday with ANO party leader Andrej Babiš, urging him not to appoint a representative of the Motorists’ party to head the Environment Ministry. The post is set to go to the Motorists under a coalition deal between ANO, the Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD) party, and the Motorists’ party. After the 90-minute meeting, Petra Kolínská of the Green Circle said the groups presented their priorities for the government’s environmental agenda and agreed to meet Babiš again after his talks with the Motorists. She stressed that their objections remain, describing the Motorists’ program as the most anti-green of all parties.
