Analysis of Czech aid to Ukraine dispels myths and confirms benefits

A new cost–benefit study presented in Prague concludes that Czech support for Ukraine has been both morally right and economically advantageous. The analysis by the Prague Security Conference shows that donated weapons came mainly from obsolete stocks with little market value, while current army equipment was not affected. Czechia’s ammunition initiative delivered 2.5 million rounds in 2024–2025, mostly financed by allies. Civilian aid included medical supplies, energy technology, food and modular bridges. Hosting some 400,000 refugees has also turned positive: since 2024, their tax contributions have outweighed state costs. Economically and demographically, the inflow strengthens the labor market and eases population decline.
