Exhibition of Czech crown jewels opens at Prague Castle

An exhibition of the Czech coronation jewels opened on Tuesday at Prague Castle with the first two days reserved exclusively for school groups. As of Thursday, September 18, the exhibition will be open to the general public.

This year’s exhibition, titled Treasure in the Darkness, highlights the fate of the royal insignia during the Second World War when they were secretly moved and hidden. The priceless symbols of statehood, including the St. Wenceslas Crown, sceptre, orb and coronation robe, will be on public display free of charge in the Vladislav Hall of Prague Castle until 29 September.
