Czech diplomacy sees White House talks about Ukraine as a step toward peace

Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský (Spolu candidate) described Monday’s meeting at the White House between U.S. President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and European leaders as “another step toward peace.” He urged Russian President Vladimir Putin to stop missile attacks and sit at the negotiating table. Minister for European Affairs Martin Dvořák (Mayors and Independents) said the talks brought no breakthrough but were still important, noting pledges of security guarantees for Ukraine, possibly including U.S. troops. According to the Kremlin, Trump later briefed Putin in a 40-minute call, with both agreeing to remain in close contact on Ukraine.
