More employers, employees and self-employed in Czechia during current electoral term

The number of employers, employees and self-employed people in Czechia has grown during the current parliamentary term, according to data from the social security administration, the statistical office and the labour office. Employment has risen slightly, while unemployment remains among the lowest in the EU, with more foreign workers entering the labour market. At the end of June, there were 357,200 employers, nearly 4.95 million employees, and over 1.15 million self-employed. The government has introduced labour law reforms, reduced payroll costs for part-time staff, abolished guaranteed wage levels, and eased hiring of pensioners, while gradually increasing contribution bases for the self-employed.
