FM Lipavský: State borders cannot be shifted by coercion, Ukraine must agree to peace

State borders cannot be changed through coercion or blackmail, and any peace deal must be approved by Ukraine, Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský (non partisan) said after news emerged of a planned meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that any settlement without Kyiv’s participation would undermine peace. Bloomberg reports Washington and Moscow are preparing a ceasefire that would cement Russian control over parts of eastern Ukraine and Crimea. Lipavský stressed that only EU and NATO members decide their enlargement and that Ukraine’s sovereignty must remain intact.
