Archaeologists in Brno discover remains of medieval houses

The remains of medieval houses that once formed a street corner on Veselá Street in Brno during the 13th or 14th century have been discovered by archaeologists during excavations beneath the future Janáček Cultural Centre (JKC). In addition to the house foundations, they also found the base of a circular bread oven with a diameter of three meters, a malt kiln five meters long, and a number of smaller artifacts. The information was shared on Wednesday with ČTK by Marek Peška, the lead archaeologist from the company Archaia, which is conducting the research on behalf of the Brno City Museum.
