Deadline for parties to register for Czech parliamentary elections

Political parties, movements, and coalitions have until 4 p.m. on Tuesday to register for this year’s parliamentary elections in Czechia. In 2021, 22 groups contested the vote, with the Spolu coalition (ODS, TOP 09, KDU‑ČSL) winning most seats ahead of ANO, the Pirates‑STAN alliance, and SPD. This year, only Spolu is formally running as a coalition, though SPD and the Pirates are fielding candidates from allied parties. Communists and Social Democrats aim for a return via the Stačilo! movement. Authorities will verify candidate lists by August 15. The elections are scheduled for October 3–4.
