Vltava relay moves from Český Krumlov to Zlatá Koruna, highlighting river’s heritage

The Vltava slavná a splavná relay (Vltava famous and navigable), organized by the National Heritage Institute, is continuing its journey from Český Krumlov to the monastery in Zlatá Koruna. A capsule filled with water from the Vltava’s source is being carried by various personalities along the river’s course to Prague. On Saturday evening, slackliner Josef Vychodil symbolically carried the capsule 70 meters above the river in Český Krumlov. The project aims to promote historic sites along the Vltava, remember locations lost due to dam construction, and highlight the river’s role in cultural, economic, and natural development. It will culminate with a major exhibition in Prague in September, supporting the goal of listing the Vltava as a European Cultural Route.
