Czech police probe whether five suspects planned major terrorist attack in Czechia
Czech police are investigating whether a group of five individuals who spread extremist content online and promoted terrorist organizations were preparing a major terrorist attack in the country. Officers seized weapons, gas pistols, and military gear. According to Břetislav Brejcha, head of the National Counterterrorism Agency (NCTEKK), the suspects also founded Telegram groups to recruit fighters for Syria under radical Islamist ideology. The investigation, supervised by the High Prosecutor’s Office in Olomouc, also uncovered a failed attempt to set fire to a synagogue in Brno last year. Most suspects are under 18, and some are even younger than 15.
