President Pavel: Blood donation is noble, donors inspire others
Donating blood, which can save someone’s life, is an extraordinarily noble act. President Petr Pavel said this during Wednesday's meeting at Prague Castle with honored blood donors and representatives of the Czech Red Cross, which recognizes the donors. In such cases, he said, it does not matter whether the donor has given blood once or multiple times.
According to the Czech president, donating blood is the right thing to do. He added that donors also inspire others by what they do. Blood cannot be manufactured, and donors are irreplaceable for most surgeries or leukemia treatments, an expert said. The number of young blood donors is increasing only slowly, unlike the number of plasma donors.
