Coalition leaders meet and keep unity, opposition calls for resignation

Leaders of the ruling coalition met late Monday night and kept a united front. Czech Interior Minister Vít Rakušan (Mayors and Independents) said coalition partners have accepted his party's key demands in response to the controversial bitcoin donation to the Ministry of Justice. Until the origin of the cryptocurrency is clarified, no one will use the proceeds from its billion-crown auction, Rakušan said. Mayors and Independents' deputy minister Karel Dvořák will also have full access to related documentation. Rakušan emphasized that all coalition parties want transparency and pledged continued action to restore public trust.

Despite the ruling coalition efforts, opposition asks for more. Tomio Okamura, leader of Party for Direct Democracy, said Blažek’s resignation is insufficient and called for the government's full resignation. Strongest opposition ANO Party is also leaning toward supporting a no-confidence vote, pending a special parliamentary session on Thursday.
