Luxembourg and Germany remain top foreign owners of Czech companies

Companies and individuals from Luxembourg, Germany, and the Netherlands are the largest foreign owners of firms in Czechia, according to new data from Dun & Bradstreet. Luxembourg returned to the top spot with CZK 164.7 billion invested, narrowly ahead of Germany, whose capital presence is similarly valued despite owning ten times more companies—7,853 compared to Luxembourg's 761. The report highlights Luxembourg's role as a hub for holding and investment structures.

The total foreign capital held by the top 20 investor countries dropped by 20 percent year-on-year, reaching CZK 734 billion—its lowest level in years. The decline may reflect reduced investor confidence, restructuring of holdings, or a shift toward domestic ownership.
