Storm floods village with hail and mud in northern Bohemia

A sudden afternoon storm swept through the village of Dalešice near Jablonec nad Nisou over the weekend, flooding parts of the community with mud and hail. According to the mayor, around 30 houses were affected, and firefighters had to pump water directly from six of them. Hailstones up to two centimeters in diameter and heavy rain washed mud from nearby fields into the center of the village, even shifting parked cars and clogging local ponds. Firefighters across the Liberec Region responded to over 20 incidents, though none as serious as in Dalešice.
