Four Czechs advance at Roland Garros, Muchová out

Four out of five Czech tennis players who competed on Tuesday at Roland Garros advanced to the second round. Jakub Menšík, Markéta Vondroušová, Tereza Valentová and Marie Bouzková all secured wins on the clay courts in Paris. The only Czech to lose was 14th seed Karolína Muchová, who fell to American Alycia Parks in three sets. Nineteen-year-old Menšík celebrated a hard-fought four-set win over France’s Alexandre Müller. Vondroušová, playing her first match after a shoulder injury, beat Oksana Selekhmeteva. Teenager Valentová came back from 2:5 in the third set to defeat French player Chloé Paquet. Bouzková saw off Anna Kalinskaya in straight sets.
