President received three requests for abolition in case of Czech servicemen charged over death of Afghan man

The Office of the President has already received three requests for abolition in connection with the case of four Czech soldiers charged over the death of an Afghan prisoner of war during their foreign mission in Herat province in 2018.  According to Czech Radio the requests were sent by the General Moravec Special Forces Foundation,   the Czechoslovak Legionary Community and Petr Macinka, the leader of the Motorists Party. The call was also supported by the leader of the opposition ANO party, Andrej Babiš. The president has not yet responded to the requests.

The state prosecutor confirmed earlier this week that four members of the Czech special forces have been charged in connection with the death of an Afghan man in 2018. The man, identified as Khan, shot and killed Czech dog handler Tomáš Procházka and wounded two others at Shindand base in Herat province. After his capture, Khan was interrogated by Czech troops and later died.
