Most Czech households still spend a fifth of their budget on energy

A recent survey commissioned by the energy company epet shows that most Czech households continue to spend about 20% of their monthly budget on energy. While this share has slightly decreased since last year, concern over rising prices has grown. Forty-three percent of respondents now fear further increases, up from one-third last year. Key reasons include geopolitical tensions, particularly U.S. policy changes under President Donald Trump and the ongoing war in Ukraine. Despite the drop in energy spending, most Czechs remain cautious and rarely switch energy providers unless driven by lower prices.
