Czech hockey players defeat Austria 4-0 in friendly; Zajíček records another shutout

The Czech national hockey team defeated Austria 4-0 in a friendly match held in Znojmo on Thursday. Goals came from Jiří Černoch, Filip Přikryl, Daniel Kurovský—who also provided an assist—and Kristian Reichel. Goaltender Šimon Zajíček earned his second straight shutout with 14 saves.

Coach Radim Rulík praised his team's improved performance after a hesitant start. Zajíček humorously noted friendly rivalry among goalies Dominik Frodl and Ondřej Kacetl, who also recently posted shutouts. The Czech squad, preparing for the upcoming World Championship, next faces Austria again on Saturday in Linz.
