Security forces’ salary increase to reflect service conditions, says Czech PM

Salary increases for Czech security forces will take into account existing service conditions and current compensation levels across various agencies, Prime Minister Petr Fiala (Civic Democratic Party) stated. Following protests last November against low wages and understaffing, the government commissioned an independent analysis to compare conditions and risks faced by different forces. While specific amounts and dates remain undecided, Finance Minister Zbyněk Stanjura (Civic Democratic Party) emphasized that increases must consider inter-agency mobility, particularly between police, customs, and prisons. Interior Minister Vít Rakušan previously suggested a government-wide solution for security personnel salaries is expected by summer.
