Nearly 9 out of 10 Czech households had internet in 2024

Digital adoption is on the rise in Czechia. Last year, 89% of households had internet access, up from 82% in 2020 and 73% in 2015, according to the Czech Statistical Office (ČSÚ). While nearly all families with children use the internet at home (99.6%), only 60% of senior households do. Smart home appliances are now used by 16% of households, mostly those with higher incomes. Smartphone internet use rose to 7 million users, though just 20% of those over 75 go online via phone. Online banking, e-commerce, and digital government services also saw sharp growth, along with AI adoption and tech integration in schools and businesses.
