Černochová: ceasefire must not come at Ukraine’s expense
A ceasefire in Ukraine must not come at the cost of Ukrainian concessions, Czech Defence Minister Jana Černochová (Civic Democratic Party) said after meeting with her Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umerov in Prague. “Talks about a ceasefire are viewed positively by our country, but not if Ukraine has to give up its demands,” Černochová stressed. The ministers discussed Ukraine’s current defence needs, continued Czech involvement in training Ukrainian troops, and the Czech-led ammunition initiative. Černochová linked Czech support to historical experience, noting that the meeting coincided with the 86th anniversary of Nazi Germany’s occupation of former Czechoslovakia.
