Mirai were formed in 2014 by singer and guitarist Mirai Navratil. The frontman has a Japanese mother and his first name means “future”.

The rest of the group, who hail from Frýdek-Místek in Moravia, comprises guitarist Tomáš Javůrek, percussionist Šimon Bílý and bassist Michal Stulík.

The band have released four LPs to date, with the most recent, Maneki Neko, coming out last year.

They have picked up prizes in the Český slavík (Czech Nightingale) and Anděl (Angel) awards.

Mirai’s biggest hit to date has been Když nemůžeš, tak přidej, which has had over 25 million views on YouTube. They are planning a show at one of the country’s biggest venues, the O2 Arena, in October.
