Czechia to host several international music stars in 2023
Next year Prague is set to see the goodbye concert of Kiss, a return of Maroon 5 and the first ever visit of Jack Black’s Tenacious D. In Brno, locals can look forward to bands such as Deep Purple or the Hollywood Vampires led by Johnny Depp and Alice Cooper.
It’s not a Kiss concert unless it’s accompanied by lots of fireworks, flames, masks and effects. June will see Kiss perform its 10th concert in Czechia and, since this is part of the legendary band’s End of the Road World Tour, it’s guaranteed to be an epic goodbye in Prague’s O2 Arena. Czechia’s largest indoor stadium is set to host two Iron Maiden concerts in May.
The world-famous pop rock band Maroon 5 is also set to play in Prague. Three years after their last showing in the O2 Arena, the band led by American singer and songwriter Adam Levine is set to perform as part of the June Prague Rocks Festival. The concert will take place in Letňany.
The first month of summer will also see the Czech capital host the American comedy rock duo Tenacious D. Jack Black, whom you may remember from the 2003 movie School of Rock, will be entertaining visitors together with Kyle Gass in the Forum Karlín.
The same venue will also be hosting blues-rock sensation Larkin Poe in October. Sisters Rebecca and Megan Lovell have awed many fans with their wild concerts incorporating elements of southern blues and roots rock accompanied by catchy guitar riffs. The performance is expected to focus around the band’s latest album - Blood Harmony.
A month later, Grammy Award nominee Beth Hart will be signing in Prague’s O2 Universum.
Deep Purple and Johnny Depp in Brno
As part of the Slavkov Open that takes place around the Moravian city of Brno, fans will be able to see one of the most influential rock bands of all time - Deep Purple. Together with Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, the heavy metal pioneers from London are considered to be part of the the holy trinity of British hard rock and any aspiring guitar player is likely to rekognise their famous song Smoke on the Water.
The June festival is also set to host the Hollywood Vampires, a rock super group that was formed more than 10 years ago by rock singer Alice Cooper, actor and musician Johnny Depp and Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry.
Meanwhile, in the East Bohemian city of Pardubice, Sting is set to perform in July at the Enteria Arena. The famous English musician, who holds 17 Grammys, will be performing many of his favourite songs accompanied by a dynamic show.
Czech stars will naturally also be on show throughout the year. Large concerts have already been announced by singers Štefan Margita, Dara Rolins and Marek Ztracený. Andel Award winners Mirai are also planning to go big, with their frontman Mirai Navratil announcing the 2023 Arena Tour that will take place in Ostrava, Brno, Pardubice and Prague in November.
