Number of Ukrainians with temporary protection status nears 360,000
The Czech Republic granted temporary protection to another 482 refugees from Ukraine on Saturday, a very slight fall on the number on the previous Saturday. A total of 358,048 special visas have been handed out to Ukrainians fleeing Russia’s war on their country since it began in late February.
The minister of the interior, Vít Rakušan, said on Tuesday that around 75 or 80 percent of the refugees who have registered with the local authorities have remained in the Czech Republic.
Prague remains the most popular location with Ukrainians, with 83,038 currently registered in the city.
