Coronavirus numbers in Czechia continue to fall
The Covid-19 pandemic in the Czech Republic still appears to be slowing down, with around 1700 new cases registered in the last seven days, which is around 700 fewer than the week before. However, the number of tests being carried out has also decreased, partly due to the fact that since May 5, insurance companies have only paid for tests if they were issued at the request of a doctor.
According to data from the Ministry of Health, there were 138 people in hospital with Covid on Thursday, down from 200 a week ago, and there were 13 Covid-related deaths in the country last week, up from nine the week before.
