Plíšková out of French Open after shock defeat in second round

Karolína Plíšková was surprisingly defeated by France’s Leolia Jeanjean 2:6 2:6 in the second round of the French Open on Thursday. The Czech world number 8 looked tired as she made several mistakes against her unseeded opponent.

Plíšková is the third Czech women’s tennis star to see an early finish at this year’s Roland Garros after title defender Barbora Krejčíková was knocked out in the first round and Petra Kvitová in the second. Only Karolína Muchová remains. She will face world number 28 Amanda Anisimova on Friday.
