Cyber Agency says attack on Czech state’s Road and Motorway Directorate encoded data
Tuesday’s cyber-attack on the Road and Motorway Directorate of the Czech Republic was a professional ransomware attack that encoded data, the National Cyber and Information Agency (NÚKIB ) announced on Friday. The agency’s spokeswoman Alena Minxová said that NÚKIB knows the identity of the perpetrator of the attack but will not announce it for tactical reasons. She said that NÚKIB is currently working with the directorate to restore the latter’s information systems and network.
As of Friday afternoon, the website of the Road and Motorway Directorate as well as that of the associated Dopravniinfo.cz are still unavailable.
