Data indicates Covid epidemic continuing to slow down in Czechia
Wednesday saw 11,625 people test positive for Covid-19 in the Czech Republic, Health Ministry data show. This is the lowest detected number of new cases registered on a working day since November 15 and 4,500 fewer than on the same day last week. The daily number of new cases has been slowing down for 14 days in a row now.
The country’s incidence number – the average number of cases per 100,000 people – currently lies at 748. The highest average number is in the Vysočina Region (946) while the Karlovy Vary Region remains the area in the country with the lowest infection rate (385).
Currently, 5,646 people are hospitalised with Covid-19, of which 942 are in serious condition. Wednesday saw 45 people die from the virus, bringing the total death toll up to 34,923.
