First Pfizer vaccine doses for children could arrive in Czechia on December 20

The first 300,000 doses of Pfizer/BioNTech’s Covid-19 vaccine for children aged five to 11 years should arrive in the Czech Republic in the week starting December 20, representatives of the Smart Quarantine Project say.

The European Medicines Agency on Thursday recommended the vaccine for approval for the age group from five to 11. In the Czech Republic, it concerns around 390 children.

The Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine is now being used in European Union countries to vaccinate people aged 12 and older. For younger children aged five and above, the use of the vaccine has previously been approved by the United States or Canada.
