Czech Republic preorders Covid vaccines for children under 12

The Czech Republic has preordered coronavirus vaccines for 700,000 children between the ages of five and 11, the Ministry of Health confirmed to Czech Radio.

As of yet vaccines for children under 12 have not yet been approved. At present Pfizer-BioNTech is preparing data for the European Medicines Agency.

The minister of health, Adam Vojtěch, said a lot would depend on parents but his government had in any case pre-ordered the children’s vaccines in the summer.

There are 809,000 children aged five to 11 in the Czech Republic.
