Czech billionaire Daniel Křetínský registers new charitable foundation
Czech billionaire Daniel Křetínský has registered a new entity, the EP Corporate Group Foundation, through which he intends to donate at least 2.5 billion crowns to charity over the next 10 years. A spokesperson said it aims to be the country’s largest charity in terms of amount donated.
Křetínský is listed in the commercial register as the new entity’s Chairman of the Board. While he had not previously registered a charitable foundation, Křetínský is believed to have spent hundreds of millions on charitable activities over his career.
Business magazine Forbes recently estimated Mr Křetínský’s wealth to be close to GBP 3 billion. He made international headlines recently after acquiring a 27 percent stake in Premier League football club West Ham United for some GBP 180 million.
