Daniel Křetínský buys 27 percent stake in West Ham United
Czech billionaire Daniel Křetínský has bought a 27 percent stake in Premier League football club West Ham United in a deal worth over GBP 180 million, the UK paper Evening Standard reported on Wednesday. Mr Křetínský and his colleague Pavel Horský will thus joining the board of West Ham. The deal valued the London team at a total of GBP 700 million.
Mr Křetínský, who attended West Ham's game with Liverpool on Sunday, said that he was delighted and that the detailed process has now been successfully concluded.
Business magazine Forbes recently estimated Mr Křetínský’s wealth to be close to GBP 3 billion.
