CR only has to Wednesday to respond to EC call for subsidy allocation report
The European Commission has rejected a request from the Czech Republic to delay by 60 days an order to report on how checks on conflict of interest in the awarding of EU subsidies has been improved. The Czech side have until Wednesday to respond, the news website iRozhlas.cz reported.
Last month the European Commission said it could halt subsidies if Czech oversight was not improved. In April it published an audit finding Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš in conflict of interest for still controlling the Agrofert group despite formally placing it in trust funds. He denies this charge.
