Covid-19: Reproduction number above 1 for third day

On Friday, laboratories in the Czech Republic discovered 184 new cases of coronavirus, 14 more than on the same day a week ago. The reproduction number – the average number of people infected by one person with the virus – stood at 1.04.

The number of Covid-19 patients in hospitals has not changed significantly in recent days. Ahead of the weekend, 65 people were being treated, according to the Ministry of Health.

The Czech Republic is currently the fourth least-affected country by the pandemic in the European Union, with an average of 24 cases per 100,000 inhabitants registered over the past two weeks.
