Slight increase in Covid cases, but epidemic still in check

Czech laboratories registered 502 new cases of Covid-19 on Friday, 64 more than on the same day last week, according to data released by the Health Ministry. Meanwhile, the number of people hospitalized with Covid has dropped by ten to 169, of whom 27 are in a serious condition. The reproduction number is at 1.01.

There are on average 29 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants, but the number differs significantly from one region to the next. Prague has the highest number of infected with 50 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants this week. The health authorities are concerned about the fact that interest in vaccination is waning.
