Lobbyist Roman Janoušek ordered back to jail
Lobbyist Roman Janoušek who was sentenced to 4.5 years in prison in 2014 for a hit-and-run accident while driving drunk and later released for health reasons will have to return and serve the rest of his sentence, the High Court in Olomouc ruled this week. According to Czech Television, which viewed the verdict, the court concluded that Jonoušek’s activities since his release showed no indication of any serious health problems. Janousek was released in 2018 following brain surgery but was later snapped by journalists enjoying winter sports at a ski resort in the Austrian Alps.
