Tuesday saw fall in new coronavirus infections, but also in number of administered vaccines
Tuesday saw 3,787 people test positive for COVID-19 in the Czech Republic, close to a quarter less than on the same day last week. The number of hospitalised patients lay at 4,063, down by a fifth compared with the same period last week. The number of patients in serious condition fell as well to Tuesday’s 861.
However, there were also more than 60,000 fewer tests taken on Tuesday, when compared to the same day last week and the ratio of positive cases to number of tests rose from 0.25 percent to 0.33 percent.
51,199 coronavirus jabs were administered on Tuesday, the lowest amount since April 7. The government is still far behind its pledge to start vaccinating 100,000 people a day after the Easter period.
