New COVID-19 infections rose on Tuesday, but week-on-week comparison shows downward trend
Tuesday saw 10,883 people test positive for the COVID-19 coronavirus in the Czech Republic, an increase by more than 2,600 cases compared to Monday. However, in a weekly comparison, the numbers suggest a positive trend. Compared to last Tuesday, new cases fell by more than 3,000 and the number of patients requiring hospitalisations fell by 900 patients. The reproduction number is also down to 0.82.
Vaccinations fell in weekly comparison. Health workers administered 36,230 vaccines on Tuesday, which is around 12,000 fewer jabs than on the same day last week.
