Number of newly registered Covid cases sees slight drop

The number of newly registered Covid-19 cases on Saturday reached 1,985, down from close to 3,000 on Friday, according to data published by the Health Ministry.

The ctk news agency notes that while weekend numbers are generally lower, due to a lower number of tests, Saturday’s figure is slightly lower than that registered a week ago, when the number of new cases crossed 2,000.

At present 31,800 people are fighting the virus, which is a higher number than the overall number of people cured since the start of the epidemic in March (30,900).
