Due to a navigation error, the group did not land where they had planned. One of its members committed suicide a month after landing, while two others went to Prague and joined the Operation Anthropoid, which eventually succeeded in assassinating Heydrich.

It is in Czechia’s interest that the EU chooses a more cautious approach towards China and deepens its relations with the United States, the country‘s foreign minister, Jan Lipavský, has said in an interview with the Czech News Agency published on Friday. He added that European states need to be better prepared for the fact that Beijing may exert pressure on them through their current dependencies on China.

He also warned that a switch in the EU’s decision making mechanism towards majority voting would give an advantage to Germany and France, countries that are currently pursuing a more benevolent policy towards Beijing. The United States, on the other hand, have been keen to limit technological ties with China.
