Health Minister Adam Vojtěch is considering making pubs and restaurants responsible for actively checking guests’ Covid certificates. At present visitors to pubs and restaurants must have a negative test, certificate of vaccination or post Covid immunity, but they are only obliged to produce it in the event of an inspection. The government has moved to tighten the Covid measures in place amid fears of an uncontrolled spread of the more contagious Indian variant of the coronavirus.
The health minister announced on Thursday that Czechs will be obliged to undergo a test for the coronavirus when they return from abroad if they are not fully vaccinated. One vaccine is no longer considered sufficient protection and employers may not allow staff to return after a foreign trip if they do not produce a negative test.
