New government to halt high-speed rail to Wrocław, may delay some highways

The emerging coalition of ANO, Freedom and Direct Democracy (SPD), and the Motorists’ parties will not continue with the planned high-speed rail line to Hradec Králové and Wrocław, ANO deputy leader Karel Havlíček told Právo daily. He said the reason is a lack of funds and added that some planned transport projects might be postponed by a year. The new government will, however, maintain work on the main high-speed route from Dresden through Prague and Brno to Břeclav. Havlíček noted that priority will be given to key motorway and railway projects such as D3, D6, D11, and D35.
