Covid epidemic continues to slow down

The coronavirus epidemic in the Czech Republic continues to slow down. On Friday, laboratories registered 7,630 new cases of Covid-19, which is 1,083 fewer than on the same day last week, according to the Ministry of Health data. The number of suspected reinfections has dropped to 1,394 cases.

Some 1,958 people are currently hospitalized with Covid, the lowest figure in the past two months. The weekly incidence number has also dropped and currently stands at 471 new cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

Over 3.7 million people in the Czech Republic contracted the virus since the pandemic hit the country in March 2020 and 35,527 of them died of Covid related complications.
