MPs hold constitutive meeting of new Czech lower house

The newly-elected Chamber of Deputies met for its constitutive session on Monday. The opening session of the new lower house is devoted to the swearing-in of new MPs and the setting up of a mandate and immunity committee. In the coming days, most likely on Wednesday, they will vote for a new speaker and vice-chairs. These positions are likely to be controlled by deputies from a nascent five-party coalition of the Civic Democrats, Christian Democrats and TO P09, who stood together in elections under the Together banner, and the Pirates and Mayors, who also ran as an electoral coalition.
